Disappearing Frame Members

I'm trying to generate frame members around a combination of 2D & 3D sketches, the preview is fine however when I click apply and OK it magically vanishes Smiley Mad

Everything is set up fine in the 'Insert Frame' dialogue box and the previews look spot on, any ideas what the problem is here, I've tried everything, Inventor is driving me mad !

Hi Anthony,

From this and your previous post, I think you might be having some graphics card issues. You might take a moment to visit this link and try the suggestion to see if that is what is going on:

Posting a screen grab of the geometry in question might help also.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,
Curtis

When you installed IV you followed the required installation procedure.

Logged in with Administrator Privedges

UAC is disabled (slider set to lowest position)

Anti-Virus software disabled.

You are using the most current Microsoft certified drivers for your graphics card.

Try a simple F-G test. Create a simple IAM with a single line in a new IPT and see if you can create a F-G member.

Thanks for your advise. The software was installed by the IT company that we use, definitely not the way I would have had it but my hands were tied Smiley Frustrated

Therefore not sure if anti-virus was disabled on install, what is UAC ?

I've done a fresh login today and fired up Inventor, attempted the F-G and again it vanishes out of thin air when I try to apply/ok it - also did a test as you suggested of a F-G on a basic line in a new IAM and it works fine.

I have also found that applying a full F-G of my model in a new IAM work fine, then placing this IAM into my live model IAM allows the frames to be seen - very bad practice I know but at the moment it seems the only thing that works.

Sometimes I pity Inventors buggyness Smiley Frustrated

UAC = User Access Control,

Start>Control Panel>User Accounts>Change User Account Control Settings.

Try setting the Slider to lowest setting: Also make sure you have at least Power-User for permissions, Administrator is better.

If the F-G is generated, but not visable, possibly look at your graphics card. Check that you are on the most current Microsoft Certified drivers.

Also try "Compaibility" setting from within Inventor:Tools>Options>Application Options>Hardware>Compatibility
