Dimensioning wish

I often double click IDW dimensions to quickly get to the tolerance dialog
box. It would be really nice to either be able to edit the dim text also in
that box, or have a button called "text" that would automatically open the
text box. The bottom line is that I often need to edit both the dimension
tolerance and text, it would be nice to save a step. I know this is picky,
but the way I see a few little tweaks here and there to the interface can
make a world of improvement to this already great software.

Careful Cory, Sean's got a weak stomach for those old Acad ways. We don't want to stir up too many bad memories and make him lose his lunch. 😉

The ideas of tools to do things are fine, but I like the way Inventor does
things and am hoping we will get new classy stuff rather than rehashing
AutoCAD. You're right, in that sense, I don't want to go back, I want to go
forward. That's just MWO and it perobably isn't shared by many either.

Very, very well put, Kent.
I, too, absolutely HATE it when I have to do tedious work that would be sooo
easy in ACAD.

BTW (Sean, please listen!): I have an idw here where the dim always likes to
snap to the other dim... You love this one?

Well, maybe altogether remember how long it took until ACAD could place
nice, associative dim's? Without going through cryptic sysvars manually? R12
for Windows had a dialog box for some of the dimvar settings, so it took
almost 6 years... And IV is just 3 years young and can already do half of
ACAD's dim tasks... isn't this good progress????

I also agree that adding 'TYP' to a dimension is currently much too tedious. I would love to double-click the dimension and get the text box.

I'm in on that one.

And how about the ding dang dim remembering it's a reference or that it has an override when you apply a different style to it.
