Dimension Style Manager

I use Inventor 2014. I know you have added a dimension setting a while back to enable the last dimension style used in an idw file to be the one that will be used next as long as the file is not closed. That no longer occurs for me and the dimesion style always reverts back to that set in the tmeplate and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to reset it. Can someone point me to it? Thanks. Hi

You can have as many styles size you want.

Just add the styles to the template or the active drawing. Then, just choose what style to use.

I am aware of that and I have several dimension styles in my template file.

Let me try to restate the question. Say I am dimensioning a drawing and my template is set up so a two place decimal is the default dimension style. Now lets suppose I have about a dozen fractional dimensions to put on the drawing. When I place the first one I pick "fraction" from the style choices and place the dimension. Now when I go to place the second fractional dimension I do not want to have to choose "fraction" from the style list again, I want the style to remain as the last one I used. I beleive the choice to do this was added two or three releases ago, but I cannot find it any more. Does that make sense? Thanks. Phil: pjquenzi@gmail.com

I tested this in 2013 and 2014. If I sected the dimension tool as the first step. Then go to the drop down and choose fractional I can place fractional dimensions at will. Once I escape out it resets. I was confused to the wording and if you are doing this try logging into the machine as a different windows user account and test the same approach. I cannot duplicate the resetting you speak of.

Regards,

Don

That is exactly how it works for me also. However, I was pretty sure there was a setting so that after, as you say, "escape out" and then return to dimensioning it would persit in the fractional style. Am I dreaming? Thanks. Phil pjquenzi@gmail.com

That's it. I just found it before I saw your post also. Thank you all. Phil
