Stephen,
If I understand you correctly, you need a way to easily change the name
of components (pats) in an assembly, after it is finished. You can do this
quite easily in Design Assistant. From your desktop; 'start' 'programs'
'inventor 6' 'design assistant'.
You then need to open the assembly (don't have it, or any components
open in Inventor) and click on the manage button. You can them rename any
components you need. Don't forget to click the save button when you are
done.
