Detail views, problems

Sorry if this question have been answered before.

I have an overlay view over my main view and i need a detailed view including the overlay view. but the detailed view will only include the main view.

Is it possible to include both views?

Hi,

Actually is not possible to do it in Inventor, but there is a very good workaround at this link:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Inventor/Overlay-on-Section-or-Detail-View/m-p/2700510/highli...

Before you create the shrinkwrapped part, activate the representation view and suppress the parts of the main assembly that you don't want to see as duplicated on the view. Then in the assembly place the new part created with the needed constraints

Once in the idw, instead of creating an overlay view, you have just to create a normal view and later a detail view from it

I attach a video to clarify

Well if you like spending 10 minutes to create an shrinkwrap and an new level of detail this might come in handy (remeber that few models are as simpel as the tutorial model). Its surprising to see that Inventor haven’t got a box to "hook"  under Display Options in the Drawing View dialog box. Maybe something to inform the programers about?

Hi Benny

Thanks for your comments. The programmer are already working on it and we will see this new implementation in the future releases

Thanks
