Design Data path in my project isn't correct

How do I correct the path for the Design Data in my project file? Application options point to the correct file, but I'm unable to edit the path in my project (project trumps application options, as I recall).

This started after installing Autodesk Inventor 2014, but project is still looking for 2010 Design Data.

Hi mjgky30SA,

Close down all of the files, then you can edit the project (assuming its not a vault project).

You Cannot properly edit a project while, a file is open. (so save all ipts, iam, idw, dwg's or ipn's in inventor, then access the projects window)

If its is a vault based project you must take ownership of the file to make the change.

In the projects, select the project witht he issue, then expand the folder options.

I hope this helps,

James

You have to take ownership of the file then.

In the Browser change "Model" to "Vault"

The IPJ should be the highest object, in the list.

Right Click on it and select "Check Out" (if you have permissions to do so).

After that you can edit it like normal.

Just make sure you check the IPJ back in when your done.

If you don't have permissions ask your CAD ADmin to make the change for you.

I hope this helps,

James
