Design Assistant Links to Wrong Part After Copy and Rename Drawing

Dear Forum-

Good morning! I use Inventor 2013 Professional. I have successfully used design assistant to copy and rename drawings and models  in the past but now it seems to have a bug of some kind. I did a quick search of the forum and could not find my exact problem, but that does not mean a thread exists with this problem solved. So, if this thread with my solution already exists, my apologies!

   Here is what happens:

1. I create a part called part 99.

2. I make a drawing of part 99 called part 99.

3. I close out of inventor like I am supposed to.

4. I open design assistant.

5. I open the drawing 99 in design assistant.

6. Part 99 also appears in the list like it is supposed to.

7.I choose the action "copy" for the drawing.

8. I choose the action rename the drawing and rename it to part 100.

9. I choose the action rename the part and rename it from part 99 to part 100, just like I did for the drawing.

10. I hit save.

11. I close out of DA.

12. I open Inventor.

13. I open drawing 99.

14. I rt click on the view in drawing 99 and it opens.....PART 100!!! Surprise!!!! What happened here?? How do I fix this??

15. I open drawing 100 and rt click on the view and it opens part 100 also.

By the way, this problem seems to have dissapeared on its own. It happened for several days this week however. So in reality, today in step 14 I saw the correct part , part 99. But what happened earlier when I got part 100 from the part 99 drawing, the older original one that was copied? I got a message at some point when it was malfunctioning about an OLE link being broken. What's that? How do I check or fix that?

By the way I do NOT have any access and cannot access the Vault yet. That is several weeks off from now. Right now ALL I have to work with is DA, that's it. How  can I work safely and confidently with DA without it messing up the drawing and model I am copying. Well, thanks for listening!

By the way, I can get this problem to re-appear by trying to copy drawings with IPARTS in them. So the problem still DOES exist, especially for IPARTS. Help!

Dear Bob-

  I have Inventor 2013, not 2014. Will a 2014 Service Pack work in 2013?

Neil,

I sorry about that:

 Try these:

Autodesk Inventor 2013 Service Pack 2

http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=DL21702054

Update 6 for Inventor 2013 Service Pack 2

http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/update-6-fo...

Thank you.

Update: Problem went away but installed recommended updates anyway.
