Deleted file...now I can't save it

I have an assembly and created a part in that assembly. Since I accidentally saved the new part into a wrong folder (not the folder all the other parts are in), I deleted the file from the wrong folder.

Now when I try to save the part into the correct folder, it won't let me Save or Save as Copy. I can't seem to do anything with it. Do I have to delete the part assembly and start over? Thanks!

No, you do not have to delete the part. move the parts to a folder location
within your project file. Do this outside of Inventor.

I can't save the part to any folder and it isn't currently in any folder because I deleted it out. I tried saving the assembly with the part in it but it isolates the part, asks me to save it to a folder, but it won't save it to any folder.

Give it a different name. See if it works. Sounds like the part only exists
in memory, since you deleted the source. You might just be out of luck
there...

Depending on how you are setup, you may have a recent copy in "old versions" as well.

You have to be REALLY careful deleting items in folders where you are working. If this happens again, close the part, move the part to the correct folder, then open it again. If you have an assembly that refers to this part open, you should also close and reopen that.

Probably too late for you now.

This normally happens if you move the file in Windows whilst it is still open in Inventor.

You can try putting it back where it was in Windows and then save, otherwise you're knackered.

if you really need to move files in this way you are best doing it with Inventor closed.
