Default to Wireframe

Is it possible to set the default view style to wireframe instead of shaded in
the parts and assembly templates? I have a MHz deficient (read: slow) computer
and always turn on wireframe to model. Thanks.

Dav,
Just out of interest: Do you find the wireframe mode any faster?

Yeah, I think so. Doesn't help with loading parts, but rotating and such is a
bit faster. Only problem is (and it goes along with my original question) model
won't open in wireframe, even if I save the model in it.

Dave,

AFAIK IV doesn't keep the wirefrrame mode because the intent was to always work in shaded mode. I don't really see a big improvement in speed in wireframe vs shaded but I haven't done any monster jobs in IV to really test it. I do think that this ought to be a saved setting just to allow for user preference.

Working in wire frame will slow your performance in Inventor because it is
designed to work in shaded mode. Bad video cards take a bigger hit on
performance when in wire frame then they do in shaded.

Well, this is one of my biggest wishes...
Being able to work in wireframe mode to grab part edges/faces that are
deeply buried beneath other parts "in one pick" (not ..select
other..other..other..other...), and being able to work in shaded mode like
we doing by default.
Would save me zillions of picks in my huge assemblies.
Wireframe mode is a bit faster than shaded, but should be WAYS faster if the
grafic cards would support acceleration of lines/circles/points in OpenGL.
