Data Required - Taper Lock Bush

I'm looking for a complete set of data for Taper Lock Bushes. I've read Machinery's Handbook e26 from cover 2 cover - no data. I've also looked at most engineering data web sites - limited amount, mostly replicated. If anybody can point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful, as I've seen this data somewhere, but I didn't make a note :-( Once I've got the data I'm intending to make an iPart for metric and imperial as well as the two and three locking hole types. Obviously this will be made available to everybody via InvC-F and other places once completed. TIA Duncan @home

Duncan, The best thing I can find is :- http://www.fptgroup.com/products/taperlockbushes.asp There is a link at the top right where you can get a pdf of the product range but it doesn't have all the dimensions for the bushes... The installation instructions pdf on the same page has a little more info in that it tells you end major diameter and length of the bush. All you need is the taper and you're away! You can also get a list of distributors in the UK from the page too som maybe you could contact your local one and get a full catalogue which may have everything you need. (Either that or buy one of each and measure them!) Hope this is of some use to you. Oh, just one more thing (I sound like Columbo there) On http://www.cbliss.com/inventor/Parts/PowerTransmission/ there is an imperial taperlock bush and a metric taperlock bush with sprocket. Just in case you didn't know Regards Rory

My favorite source for this kind of information is the Martin Spocket catalog.

You can get bushing information from their site http://www.martinsprocket.com and go to power transmission section / interchangeable bushings. It is a 16 page pdf file to add to your reference library.

Maybe this link will work too.

Thanks for the help so far. Anymore info would be greatly appriciated. I didn't realise that Taper Lock Bushes went up to such large sizes, it'll take me a little longer to produce the iPart. I thought I'd seen the data with both metric and imperial combined in something like MH[e26] unfortunately not. I've not looked at the sprokets with tapered bores for taper locks on Charles' site, but the iPart Taper Lock only contains 12 variations. I've done one iPart for all metric sizes for the smaller bushes (two locking screws) that had 197 variations. I was hoping to get the whole lot into one iPart, that must be something like ~600 variations. Once I'd done that I was thinking about an iFeature to remove a taper and holes for locking/extraction screws that would match the iPart Taper Lock. Once completed they'll all be posted for everybody. yours Duncan @home ps. I might have squirrelled away some info at work, I'll have another look. I am sure that you have seen the one that is listed at http://www.cbliss.com/inventor/Parts/PowerTransmission/. I think this only has imperial sizes. -- IV R8, sp1 Dell PWS360, 2.6ghz, P4 2 Gb ram nVidia FX1000 6.14.10.5303 Driver 1260x1024x32 bit "Duncan Anderson" wrote in message news:40535352_2@newsprd01... > I'm looking for a complete set of data for Taper Lock Bushes. > > I've read Machinery's Handbook e26 from cover 2 cover - no data. > > I've also looked at most engineering data web sites - limited amount, mostly > replicated. > > If anybody can point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful, as > I've seen this data somewhere, but I didn't make a note :-( > > Once I've got the data I'm intending to make an iPart for metric and imperial as > well as the two and three locking hole types. > > Obviously this will be made available to everybody via InvC-F and other places > once completed. > > > TIA > Duncan > @home > >

Rory, You've found the Fenner page for Taper Locks - the original designers & makers - I've been using WebFerret Pro and found everything else including Taper Lock Credit Union ? ? ? One of those PDFs says they'll supply the info if requested. As regards to your gag about buying one of each - I've created one iPart for Taper Locks with just two locking screws and only covering metric bores, there was a total of 197 rows. If I go up to the 120100 Taper Lock that Martins make and include imperial as well they'll be ~600 rows. That'll give me something to do Thanks for your help. Kirk, I think the one you mean also only has 12 different sizes. I was planning on covering the whole Fenner range at least, which is near to 400 sizes. I think if I include the sizes made by Martins (up to 120100) that will go up to ~600 sizes. We use the Dodge power transmission components catalogue, the dead tree edition.  I don't know if they have something similar online or not.

Although we are 14 years down the road since the question was posed , i am having similar issues .

Although i have just search traceparts online for taperbush and found

https://www.traceparts.com/en/product/stemin-breitbach-taperbush-clamping-element?CatalogPath=TRACEP...

lets hope this saves someone else a little time .

regards Tony
