Use a Line to Split the curved Face.

Start a 3D Sketch and Include Geometry the known three edges.

Add a line closing the profile.

Patch.

Sculpt.

Are you able to post your solution. Would be easier to step through the process to see how you perform the feature. Thanks

I think I would have made the part differently - I will try to post an alternative technique later today.

See attached edit of your file.

I tried the same method on this part but it is not working. This part file is 2013. Have i missed something?

Thanks,

You might need to Extend some of the edges of the Patch surface before cutting.

But looking at the results - I think a better technique of modeling can be found.

I will take a longer look when I get a chance.

While I am busy getting my regular work done - it would be useful for you to experiment Extending the surface to get the Split to work.  Did you give it a try?

Should a different modelling technique be used to form this part?

What would you do different then how i created and i will attempt thet path myself calling back if i need help?

On your first part - I can't help but wonder if you didn't really intend a turned (revolved) part.

Lofted geometry and the face resulting from the split is expensive to manufacture.

Are you sure the attached isn't what you were after?

How would you match the part so it follows the same curves. I tried your technique (excellent) but i have not got it right.

Regards

Ray

Sketch2 in one of your parts is not constrained and is not positioned correctly.

The parts are not constrained in your assembly (why is your first component not Grounded?).
