Creating Negative Space

Ive inherited a model, and am not familiar with creating negative space...i.e removing material that is around or surounded by another object.

Hi Hunter,

 

is it an assembly or a part?

 

You can use a multibody approach for example.

 

Here a video i have just uploaded

 

(to clean residue geometry you can use Delete face with Lump option or normal cut tools as split, extrusion cut, etc)
