Creating IGES & STEP Files (Crashes:many, Files:0)

I'm new to the discussions but I need assistance with a problem I have. I cannot find anything like this doing searches of the board. I cannot get Inventor 10 to produce any IGES or STEP files for me. I have tried many different options, save locations, parts (simple and complex). Maybe there's something fundamental I need to know about these files? I just get crash after crash after crash, equally distributed between our two inventor systems (quite different computer setups, with different windows versions). I feel like I'm missing something simple here.

Works here.

Did you try saving it locally or over a network.

I just tried accessing a file from the hard drive and then saving the step & iges (made a few tries with different options) to the hard drive and didn't get anything.

Do you mind sending me a file you see crashing to me to
johnsonDOTshiueATautodeskDOTcom, so I can take a look?

Issue resolved: Working with autodesk we were able to confirm that this is a less known issue with IV. To successfully create these files you need admin level priviledges on your log in, if you have less you get a crash. Tried this with my boss's login (admin) and mine (not admin) and found this to be true.

Just thought I'd post my result for the sake of people searching the archives 🙂

Note: Autodesk has informed me that this issue will be corrected with the coming (date unavailable) service pack.

Thanks Greg!
-Not mentioned elsewhere, but relates to our issue with IV10.
Students don't have Admin access - used to be that all IV users had to be Admins. Checking for patch next.

"Works here!", comments are useless, unless you are sure that you have the same network/hardware set-up ;).
