creating cables with a fixed length???

Hi all, I'm new to the message board and am looking for some help. I am creating an assembly where I need to add a light probe that is length X from a sensor to an LED. I would like to create a cable modeling this transition to make sure it can be routed around other components. I can't seem to find how to lock the length for the cable from point A to point B, it only changes based on what points I add on its path. Has anyone else run into this problem? Help is much appreciated, Mitch

Assuming you are using the cable/harness module then sadly you can't fix its length..

I've requested this functionality many times before..

I'd love to be able to create a harness and simply be able to say "max length 12in" and then get an alert when you have routed it and it has exceeded that length.

Obviously you can check the length of a cable after its been routed but there is no real functionality other than that..
