Creating an Add-in for Inventor

Hi, could someone please assist me with this one:

I am using a macro to export the BOM (parts list) from a .idw to some excel file and would like to auto run this macro when saving the .idw.  Before it was easy with the AutoSave macro, but not anymore with Inventor 2014.  From what I understand an Add-In is the new way to do this.  Could someone please explain to me in simple terms how to achieve this?  (create the Add-in etc.)?
