Creating 2D Text in Model that show in Drawing

Hi all,
I need to show in a Drawing View some text on a face of my part. I tried to create a sketch with some text in it, but it won't show in my IDW file... Any other option? I don't want a 3D text because it slows the computer too much.....

Thanks

Sketched text does not show in an IDW. It's something we've asked for.

A workaround. Emboss the text a very small amount.

Or make a bmp or word doc and use the Decal tool 8^)

Or use Charles' 3D text tool to create the 2D text in the model but don't extrude it, just Finish Sketch. In the IDW view do a "Show Contents" and then RMB on the model name in the browser and select "Get Model Sketches".

I wish DECAL worked in views other than shaded though 😞

I agree. The functionality in this area comes so close with a number of different ways,
but just doesn't quite seem to get there IMO. I sure hope there is some improvements in
showing text sketch stuff in IDW's and maybe with Decals, although I doubt the decal stuff
will change to where it can be shown in non shaded views.

I know it's not the perfect solution, but why not
create the text directly on the IDW view with the sketch command.  Remember
to select the view first before clicking on the sketch button and the text will
be attached to the view.

Hi Stan

For me it is generally the ISO view "only" that I want to show the text in
