Create LOD from View Rep

When I create a new view rep that has parts in subassemblies visibility turned off (from within the top level assembly) then create a LOD from that view - the LOD suppresses the entire subassembly. I then have to go back and unsuppress the parts I want shown. Is this behavior as designed? It would be great if it would truly copy the view as it is to the LOD.

View-Reps as strictly a visual management tool for either suppressing items
or positional reps. LOD is a memory management tool that doesn't load the
deselected items into memory.

I understand this. This does not answer my question. Why does Inventor suppress the entire subassembly when I create a LOD from the view rep instead of just what was turned off inside the subassembly? Message was edited by: crekyman

The behavior you described does not sound right. Could you send me an example of the problem?
Thanks!

My assembly is over 19 MB. Can you give me a secure FTP site to upload to?
