Create explosion view from imported CAD Model

Hi there,

I've imported an IGS file into Inventor and now want to create an explosion view of it. I've done this several times from assembly files but I don't know how to proceed with this importet geometry, since I can't import the model into a presentation file. Is this even possible?

Thank you in advance,

Max

Is it a multibody? You could use the 'move body' command to simulate an exploded view.

Hi,

it's sadly not a multibody. I can select different surfaces but that thing is just a solid piece of rock, containing no part information whatsoever.

Unfortunately due to my lame internet-connection, I can't upload the file here. 56K isn't any good.

Regards,

Max

You have composite surface bodies.

You will need to convert to solid bodies and an assembly.
