A customer has supplied me an STL file. It opens in Inventor but I can't measure it or place it into an IDW to dimension it. Anybody know how to fix fix this?

Hi, are you using a compatible version of Inventor?
"The Inventor 2013 compatible preview is available until January 31, 2014 at which time the license will expire, and the function will be disabled. For Autodesk Subscription customers, a non-expiring version of the technology is available for Inventor 2014 in the Autodesk Exchange Apps site."
Service Packs and Updates generally aren't for new functions but if you make a post on the IdeaStation then we may be able to take this further: IdeaStation
Thanks,
Indy
Hi, would you be willing to post on the IdeaStation in that case?
Thanks,
Indy
Dear nenaddj69:
You are using Inventor 2014 SP1 but are not on Subscription. That is certainly your right to choose; however, the solution you seek is available to Subscription customers. One of the values of the subscription program, in addition to obtaining software upgrades, e.g.,. Inventor 2014 to Inventor 2015, is the ability to obtain add-on functionality. It would be a disservice to those who have opted to be on Subscription to supply you with this functionality without being a subscriber. Sorry.
Does this mean that anyone who purchased just 2013 and no subscription, and needing this feature, cannot convert mesh to solids unless they purchase 2014?
Thanks JDMather for trying to help...
