Hi everyone. After trying Inventor Fusion for Mac a while, I've had it. I wanted to take the work I've done with me along to something else, - More bugs -.
Is there a kindred soul here who could translate/convert my IF file to something the world outside can read?
DXF or similar. (It is 2D only)
The file you find at: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/a3y2s6phry4jo3f/Pkf6UP-mE0
where translated files can be posted if you wish.
Thanks in advance.
Nic
You're much more likely to find help for this in the Inventor Fusion forum.

Thanks for your suggestion, but don't you think they are fighting the same problems there?
So that's no solution. Anybody else who tries?
I thought that Mac and Windows files were compatible with the same App.... No?
Attach the files here.
I think that people who are fighting the same problems are much more likely to have a solution, either to the problems, or to the alternate software. Most people in this forum (Inventor) are not using Fusion to any significant degree, so I suggested you try where there's more familiarity and understanding of what you're up against.

My Fusion 2013 will not open this file type. But I'm not a Fusion user so maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Well, 🙂 if they had the solution I would have learned it by now. The problem is I did not find any solution in that thread. That is why I am here at the (Windows?) side. In hope that (YOU?) did an effort to open the file and use the extended possibilities of your version. Did you try????
I can save a DXF file from Fusion using the save as command.
These are the file types I can open in Fusion 2013.
I suggest that you try out Fusion 360 (search Google).
You might also check reponse #3 in this thread.
I don't think the issue is between Windows & Mac, I think the issue is between the Free Inventor Fusion technology preview version and the Inventor Fusion version (Windows only) packaged with Inventor.

I could but it is one of my files not yours. It looks like Windows users can not open the file you posted. Or maybe it is a free vs purchased thing. Sorry
Thanks for trying Rayfeiler. Seems I am stuck. Lesson learned. Free is not free, it comes with a hidden price 😞
In the same time, this politics does offend ppl who do a honest try to use and maybe purchace the software.
For my part I am finished with Autodesk forever, I do not like to be tricked. Better use my 2K dollars on other providers.
Thanks guys.

Thanks guys.
Where did you spend 2K dollars on a FREE technology preview?
Autodesk Labs is a place to test out stuff that isn't ready for prime time yet. What did you find "tricky" about this?
It sounds like you have 2D from your description. Inventor Fusion TP is a 3D modeler and you need 3D geometry to export anything.
I hesitate to suggest again that you check out Fusion 360 as it is still in BETA, but from the video here http://au.autodesk.com/?nd=class&session_id=11015 it appears that was the direction the Inventor conFusion TP was heading all along.
JDMather sorry to hurt ur feelings. Being tricked is not getting the abillity to export in the most common formats, which actually is an Autodesk format. I never said I used 2k on a trial, but use it on software which I thnk is fit after trying it. I found something I think is better and more open.
Enjoy ur software 🙂
