Converting an iPart to a non-iPart

Is there anyway to convert an iPart version (not the factory) into a standard Inventor part? I know it will loose all associations with the factory which is not a bad thing for me at this time. Thanks. Mike

Can't you derive a new part from the iPart child?

You can Step/SAT the child out after you open it.

I have successfully done this with fasteners then used the solid editing
tools(of course "normal" extrusions can be done to modify also-the solid
edits allow moving of complete faces) to further modify the models
(machining ops to customize the fasteners)

Why not open the factory, set it to the desired size, Copy SaveAs, open the newly "Copy SaveAs" part and delete the table. Then you have a "non-iPart" but still have access to the features.

I think either Kent or Charles has some iCode that will do this.

Have a look at their sites.

I agree, this should work fine. You could also delete the table that gets left in the 3rd
party folder if you want.
