Convert Text/Image to outlines

If I wanted to cut out a logo or text from a flat material is there any way in inventor to import a picture or write text then convert edges into lines which can be extruded and cut from the material?

Use emboss to extrude cut your text in a sketch.

Text can be done like salariua shows in his screenshot, pictures will have to be either traced or made into a dwg/dxf externally and imported into inventor.

Thanks Niels,

You can try the any to dwg program, I use it to convert pdf's mainly but it has an image version as well. I am not sure you will get a good quality trace but at least you will get it in autocad.

You can also paste the image in autocad and draw your geometry on top, send the image in the back and draw over it (you can adjust the transparency for the image as well).

You can also do this directly in Inventor, just place the image in a sketch and trace it.
