Convert "dumb" solids to Parametric parts?

Can anyone tell me if there is a true way of converting .sat or other dumb
solids into Inventor 5.3 Parametric Parts or into a sheet metal part?
Thanks for your help!

Nope. There are some translators out there that can do feature based
conversions but they are rare and expensive. If all you have is a SAT or
STEP there will be no parametrics in it.

Like Sean said, but ... If you are just wanting to add or cut away features or unfold
sheet metal you should be able to do that as is.

and, of course, for simple modifications you can use the Edit Solids ability.
