Can someone tell me how I change an inventor drawing to an autocad file. I can change it for idw to a dwg file and then open it in autocad, but I cannot edit it once i am in autocad, this prevents me from sending it through to a CAD/CAM scanner for manufacture.
Please help!

Hi
You should use the command Save Copy As Autocad DWG Files.
And then everything should be fine
We use dual dimensioning on our detail sheets with metric primary and inches secondary. when we export this way the secondary dimensions are not adaptive. they are just txt in the autocad (modelspace) dwg. is there a way to prevent this? Some co-workers just finished the Inventor basic class and they said the teacher showed them a way this could be done. I am skeptical.
I just confirmed your workflow and my (dual) dimensions update in AutoCAD.
I did the test under Inventor 2013...
I had a box with the 2010 platform and was able to have the dual dimensions update as well under that version.
the guys had a template from the class that would do it so I went thru it to see what was going on. if the dimensions styles have the alternate unit side by side it will work, if they are primary on top and secondary under them it will not work.
You are correct... Over and under configuration, the dual dimension is static. We don't dimension that way so I didn't even think of trying different dual dimension text configuration.
