Convert .dxf Mesh into Solid

Hello,

I am running into a problem when I try to use .dxf files in Inventor 2014 as solids.

I am able to import them, but they are imported as a surface mesh, whereas I would like to make these into solids ... Do you know How I could do that? I tried installing "Polyhedral Mesh to Solid" from http://www.codedog.com.au/, but I cannot find it in the ribbon menu. Isn't there a simpler way to convert this to a solid?

Attached is a picture of the parameters I use when opening the .dxf model and I also attached the dxf file.

Just as extra information, my only goal of doing all this is that I want to make a "Combine" operation between the .dxf object and a simple cylinder... And this requires having 2 solids.

You can additionally combine 8 green and yellow faces by Delete face with healing.

Hmmm, from your feature tree you used an approach very different than I had in mind.

If I get a chance today - I will do the same, only attach screen shot until others have had a chance to take up the challenge.

Hello, I'm trying to convert an stl into a solid object, and I'm hoping that this process is similar to what you're doing. I imported it into inventor but it says the component has no volume. I'll attach my file and hope someone can help me with this.

Do you have all Service Packs and Updates installed for 2016? (The correct answer is, no.)

Do you have the AutodeskMeshEnabler installed?

Are you a student or are you on subscription?

I'm not using Inventor, as I'm broke, and can't use the trial version. I'm currently using AutoCAD, and I can't seem to use that file.

 You should be able to import a *.stp file in AutoCAD, but in any case, try the attached *.dwg file.
