Contour Roll

Inventor 2013.

I want to make a contour roll and use the developed length option. How do I accomplish this.

The only way I can get this option to be available (not greyed out) is to have a closed loop sketch, if I have only a single line line sketch this option is not available.

Can you include a screenshot or he part file or an example of the part file?

I ran into an issue like this and my problem was, my sketch had a radius that was smaller that my sheet metal rule bend radius.

The attached part file has two sketches.

The first is just a line that when using the contour roll does not give the option of using developed length.

The second is a line with a short leg on it and will allow using contour roll and the developed length option.

I ran across this about a year ago when we started playing with the idea of using inventor and after reading your reply remembered that I had to use the second sketch and shave what I did not need off.
