I'm currently using Inventor 2013. but I've seen this in earlier versions of Inventor.
After creating a view within a drawing sheet, if you RMB on the view label, an option for Constrain to View Border appears.
What does this option do and how is it used? I don't see anything happening when I use this option.
Any tips, suggestions or errata would be welcomed.

Hi Jim.
Not sure what it does. And can't find an info on the wiki which is really helpful. I expected it locked the position of the label to the view, but even with the option on the label position can be moved independently of the view.

Yes, I noticed the same behavior. Perhaps someone else will chime in?
Thank you for your reply, Brandon, it is appreciated!
No idea either, changine the setting doesn't affect the text. Can't find anything within the Styles that referes to it either.
Hi,
It looks like it's to keep the text relative to the centre of the view boarder if you resize you part/model

You found the answer I was looking for!
One way to see this option in action is to create a view on sheet one, then add a detail view. Now adjust the size of the detail area boundary. When the option is invoked, the view label will move relative to the new size of the detail view boundary on sheet one. When it's NOT invoked, the view label stays in place and does NOT adjust relative to the size of the detail view boundary. The label will remain at it's current absolute position on the sheet.
Once you've seen this option in action, you may wish to make this a default behavior when creating views.
Thank you to all for responding to my query! It is appreciated!
hi,
is there an option of making "constrain to view border" always on? thanks.
I'm searching for a solution to this also! The drawing view titles seem to get thrown around the page after an update of parts or assemblies
