Not yet. (IV 2014)

There are several posts in the Ideastation about this.

See:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Inventor-IdeaStation/Allow-Symmetric-Component-Patterns-in-Assembly-En...

for the most recent one.  It lists all the related posts in the comments.  The parent is marked Accepted, but I don't know how long it takes a post to go from Accepted to available in the software.

Add a kudos if you think this is important.

Thanks for the reply.

Are there any work arounds? Its hard to use a pattern from one of the parts without creating something that will physically appear.

Not true...

It will as long as it is a feature Pattern Select from a part that has it going both ways..

LOL

Careful.. watch the bom count with that workaround.. It creates more parts that it should be as you are duplicating the original

Yep.  Gotta make sure to remember to suppress the extra occurrence when you're done with the pattern.

The bane of my existance component patterns - that and mirrors. All this garbage about workarounds, suppressing occurrences, watching BOM counts etc.

All the while the opposition software i.e. Solidworks, patterns and mirrors work seamlessy...

Let's all hope for small miracles in the next release.
