Company logo in title block create a very large file .dxf

Hi,

In my title block, I've got a company logo (file .jpg).

But when I export the drawing in .dxf, the file weighs 5Mo, without logo (200Ko), and vector logo 700Ko (import .dxf).

But with this solution (vector logo), there is a black line around the fill area.

Example (orange rectangle)

RectangleOrange.png

Do you have a tips for generate a light DXF file with company logo ? (except to create a .zip)

Thanks,

What is the filesize of the .jpg?
Is it 1:1 in regards to the size you want on your drawing or do you have to scale it?

My suggestions would be to make sure it's only as big as it needs to be in regards to dimensions and then make sure you save it in a picture format with the smallest filesize, like .png or .gif.
(without loss of quality ofcourse.)

My original file is a .jpg, but it's converted to .bmp, because it's only the extension accepted.

How to insert a .png file in a title flock ?

Strange, when i define a new titleblock and select "insert image" i get several filetypes including .jpg, .png, .tiff, etc.
We're using a .png in our titleblocks, so it is possible.

Which version of Inventor are you using?
I'll make a short movie of what i see in 2014 and will post that in a bit.

Edit, here's what i'm seeing:

I use currently Inventor 2012,  but in few months I'll have Inventor 2014.

I can't remember if we renewed the titleblock with 2012 or 2013, but if you're not seeing the same options in 2012 when following the same procedure then i guess it isn't possible until IV2013.

If you can't hold off making your titleblocks until then, you can try making your .bmp as small as possible by using the correct dimensions and a color depth with as few colors as possible.
