Coil Around Cylinder Strange Mesh

Working on a simple cylinder with a coil runing around the outside of it.  For some reason the mesh does not handel the geometry correctlly - can figure our why - any thoguths ?  Attaced are pics from the meshing and the model.

Hi Ted,

 

  The mesh appears that it is from the Autodesk Mechanical simulation product (formerly Algor).

 

  If this is correct, you can post the question in that forum here: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Autodesk-Simulation/bd-p/396

 

  If you want, post the model and I can see if we have any issue with the Stress Analysis mesher in Inventor.  

 

  It appears the coil is not 'capping' correctly in the meshed body.  I see the strange artifact at the bottom of the hole.
