Classic UI shows up after shutdown.

Hello all,

I did a search with nothing relevant poking it's head through. Every time I shut down my computer then boot it back up and start IV, it always starts in the classic UI. I have to change it and then re-start IV every time. It only does this on a complete shutdown, not a computer restart, and it never does it when the computer goes to sleep. Once it's changed and IV is restarted it will stay in the Ribbon UI no matter what until I shut down the computer again (usually over the weekend).

I've read a lot of posts about these kinds of things being a registry issue but I have never even seen a windows registry let alone edited it. I only provide this information in case my situation has something to do with it. In that case, I am begging you to be thorough because my understanding of the registry is that I can do some damage in there if I'm not careful.

Thanks for the help.

Okay, I lied. I just restarted my computer this morning and got a Microsoft C++ Runtime Error (see the attached picture) as the computer was about to re-boot, then IV started in classic UI mode.

Should I be worried Smiley Sad?

Oh and for the record, it's my desktop, not the laptop.

Thanks again.

Hi JeanChile

Probably you could try to repair Inventor (Control Panel / Software / Uninstall Inventor / Repair)

If this does not help, I would try to uninstall and reinstall Inventor.

Ribbon issues are mostly linked with .NET Framework issue. Probably an reinstall of Inventor will help.

Thanks for the response, although that's not what I was hoping to hear. Given my deadline this Thursday, I'll have to give it a try later this week or next and report back.

IV seems to be working fine (said with fingers crossed) today though with no issues. I'm going to continue on with multiple backups until later.

Thanks again.
