Circular Welds - Computing Mesh

Situation-

I have a 2in Dia. bar and a vertical plate.  The bar end is flush with the face of the plate.  I place a 0.25in fillet weld around the bar (welding the bar end flush to the plate face).  I set up my analysis and adjust the Local Control Mesh as needed.  When I go to update mesh, it gets stuck and continues to run (after 20minutes).  When I remove the 0.25in fillet weld, the analysis runs without any hickups.  Is there an issue with the program with respects to welds in circular shapes?

See picture attached....

Hi Dan,

This is a known issue with "full around" circular fillet welds created in a R2012_RTM build.

There is a workaround to "heal" the fillet welds:

1)  Install Service Pack 1

2)  Open the assembly and do a "Rebuild-all" (Manage tab) => This will "heal" the fillet weld

3)  Mesh => the geometry can be meshed successfully

I apologize for the late reply.

Best regards, -Hugh
