Changing selection order of iPart parameters

Apologies if this is covered somewhere but I'm not entirely sure what I'm asking.

I have a bronze thrust washer ipart that I modified to cover all the standard sizes that are available for a SAE 841 thrust washer, from McMaster for instance. I published the part and everything works fine except one issue.

The first prompted column is Thickness, then OD then ID., So I have to kind of bounce around to get what I want. What I'd like, since the primary selection would be what "shaft" it's on is to select ID first, then since thickness may matter between parts select that next and then finally pick the ODs left over from that available ID and Thickness...since the OD will typically be insignificant for my applications.

Is there a way to rearrange the order?

Did that make sense?

Post the file here.

You should be able to go to the ipart table and right click on column header "set as key:x" where x is a number in which order the prompt will be.

That part I understand, but can this be done after it's published? How do you change the table order at that point? It's not like you're going into that single part any longer, unless maybe I'm misunderstanding something. The published part is different no?

Yes, the generated childs are derived from the ipart.

But once the published part is placed via CC, I not longer have the table available in the new part. Would I go back to the original pre-published part, change the key numbers and then update the family template from that original (now updated) part?

So you actually need to change a CC memeber not just an ipart.

Go to your family and click on Key Columns, there you can specify new keys and change order if needed. As long as you don't change the filename, it doesn't matter how you generate that file, meaning by what key value.
