Changing reference object in drawing file

I wondered if there is a way of changing view reference from one object to another.

Example.

I have two similar models but drawing done for one.

I could save it as with a different name and replace in all the views referenciing from old model to new one.

Possible?

Thanks.

Can the .iam references be changed in .ipt file?

Wikihelp says no.

"NoteYou can replace a model only with the same type of model. Replace IPT with IPT, IAM with IAM, and IPN with IPN."

But have a go, you never know.

I bet your dimensions will get messed up if it does work as the edges will not be recognised.
