Changing coordinate system direction

I know this has been asked before, because I remember reading something about it.
I just can't find it anywhere.

When I start a new drawing or assembly, can I set up the coordinate
system or indicator so that "Z" in pointing up?

Thanks,
-Ken

1/ Select the Rotate tool
2/ Free rotate the part until the axes are roughly the way you want them
3/ Hit the space bare to show the common views cube
4/ Select the corner nearest you to fine tune the alignment
5/ RMB and select Redefine Isometric
6/ save as your template

Unfortunately, in the idw environment, the axis setting doesn't follow
through so you have to get used to the front view being the top and the
bottom view being front and so on.

Do you mean that the new sketch should be on the YZ plane instead of XY?

If so, Tools > Applications Options

Go to the Part tab

Select Sketch on Y-Z plane

Thanks for the replies.
I meant I wanted to change the default when I start a new drawing.
I guess Richard's approach is what I'm going to have to deal with.

Thanks again.

Can I use a flat sheet metal pattern view as a sketch and modify it by
adding match marks and tabs ?
