Change Alu extrusion profile in part

Hi,

Is it possible to change the Alu profile extrusion (15") in this part with another profile extrusion (40mm). There is a slightly difference between them.

Attached you'll  find the part file,  Alu profile .dxf and .idw (40mm)

Kind regards,

Marco

Marco,

What version are you using?

What slight changes are you looking to make?

I would take a look at creating an ipart and control the differences in the members table of this ipart.

If it is nothing more then length that that is an easy one to control in the table.  Just import the length dimension and in the table input the desired length for each member.

One other thing is looking at the part, you want ot make changes.  Given it is an imported part, if the length is the only thing you want to change then you are fine.  If you need to change any part of the geometry makeup, then you are going to have to recreate it.

The geometry appears to be from an stl or other faceted source.

The DXF is very poorly done.

I would remodel from scratch in Inventor.

In the DXF the circle alone is made from 72 lines rather than as a simple circle.
