center line to edge

When putting in a centerline, I can edit the line and get it to align with
an edge. This is good. Now if I use that centerline to create a dimension,
say an angle to a hole, the centerline looses its alignment to the edge. I
can go back and edit the centerline and align it to the edge again, but what
ever I do to the dimension will cause the centerline to loose its alignment
to the edge. Is there a fix? (Or, sarcastically, do I have to by Pro?)

I can't say that I've ever tried that. A possible work around is to create a view sketch (NOT a sheet sketch) and create your line through the center and parallel to your line that can be dimensioned.

This is in a IDW right? What is the centerline a centerline for? can you use a bisector
centerline or one of the other ones rather than sketching one in? Actually you don't even
say how you created the centerline?

Its in an idw, it is the a large bore hole with a bolt pattern around it. I
used the center mark tool and extended the center lines.

I found a work around.

The centerline bisector Kent mentioned is normally used for bolt patterns,
have you already tried that? The icon is like two angled lines and an arc.

Yes I have use that for other purposes, but not for a bolt circle.
