Centent center

Hi to all,  what kind of part can be publish in the Inventor content center?  is it only fasteners?

I have to create a library for all my parts and iparts (Contactor, pilot devices, breakers, switches, etc...), what is the proper procedure? (Create a custom Content Centre or a Custom Library folder)

I am using the Vault Pro 2014 with Inventor 2014.

In the Autodesk Data Management Server Console, I did create my custom Library in the libraries folder. In Inventor I publish a part with success, but i can not see it in the Content Center Editor.

Why it not available in the CC?

Thank's!

Alain

In your Inventor Project, you need to specify what Content Center libraries to include.  Once the library is included in the project, it should show up in Content Center editor.

As far as what can be published, it is not just fasteners.  Pipe and pipe fittings, steel profiles for Frame Generator, fasteners, even custom features may be published there.  How to Author and publish each one depends on what it is, check out the Inventor Help for details on that.

That was already done in the project! Probably in Author

To answer your question of what type of parts can be published to Content Center (CC). Any parts that you feel a need to use over and over again in your designs that doesn’t change other than standard sizes.

Things to consider in creating components to publish to CC.

If the components have multiple sizes perfect example is hardware is to create a iPart of them and create their sizes once you have the iPart with the multiple sizes you can publish it and have all the sizes available in CC.

If you are wanting to add components for use in Inventor modules like Tube & Pipe, Frame Generator, Cable & Harness or general hardware you will want to first author this parts for the correct connections and use. The authoring tool can be found in the Manage tab under the Author category.

Once authored you can then add them to CC by using the publish command in the Manage tab under the Content Center category.

If you are not wanting to add them to the modules listed above you can just publish them to CC you may want to create a folder in the CC manage ahead of time for this components if one doesn’t exist.

Once publish to CC they should be available to everyone with access to the CC.
