Cannot delete lines in sketch

I was trying to construct a shape in Inventor (in sketch) mode. First, I constructed a horizontal and vertical line, then a circle in the corner which I made tangent to both lines. Next, I deleted the straight lines and construced the larger arc and made it tangent to the small circles. I noticed after rotating the large arcs I had overlapped the small circle (radius) a bit so I went back and tried to trim the large arcto the small corner arcs but it will not let me select the large arc for the trimming process.

I cannot even delete the arcs; only the small arcs. What am I doing wrong? I tried to attach a ipt file but it wouldn't let me. Pretty silly IMO. Thanks in advance!

Can you attach a jpeg screenshot of the sketch?
One of the reasons that prevent to delete lines is that those lines
are created from series. So you need to make them not associative (RMB
on one element of the series to delete the whole series or to brake
associativity).

P.S: Horizontal lines, vertical lines, arcs, deleted lines... It seems
a typical Autocad workflow. Inventor make sketching easies an easier:
just draw and constraint. Construction lines can remain in the sketch...

Zip the file then it will allow unless its a huge file (I'm guessing not). Thanks.

Sounds like you have more than one sketch, and some geometry is in one,
while you are working in another, but it's hard to say without seeing what
you are talking about. Attachments are a pain, try putting it into a zip
file.

XP has a form of zip built in... or post the file as is to:
You can post the file as is to ftp.interlancentral.com -

This is the location that the Autodesk newsgroups use to post large files.

Keep in mind that it is a public site, just like this newsgroup.

Full information is located in the FAQ that is posted here weekly by Kent

In Windows Explorer right click on the file name and select Send to Compressed (zipped) folder. No other software is needed.

Haven't we been through this before?

Read my answer: you created arcs as series, so you have to delete
series before. Right-click on one of the element (not the generator)
and read the pop-up menu.

Take a look at your constraints... I do not see any tangent constraints, and
very few coincident constrats in this sketch.

Here's a better way to create the sketch. 2008 file is attached...

1. Center your sketch about the part origin.
2. Create 2 offset horizontal construction lines with a vertical constraint
between the origin point and the midpoint of the construction lines.
One construction line will be used to control the length of the arc, and the
other one will control the offset from the origin point.
3. Dimension the first construction line to .064
4. create the arc between the two endpoints of the construction line
5. Make the second construction line tangent to the arc.
6. Use circular pattern in the sketch panel to pattern the arc 4 times about
the part origin point.
7. Create a circle with a diameter of .005 near each corner. Alternatively
you might create a construction line between each pair of arc endpoints, and
then use the midpoint of the construction line and the endpoint of the arc
to create each circle.
8. Apply 2 tangent constraints to each circle and the adjoining arcs
9. Trim all four circles.
