Can you convert a 3ds max file ti an inventor ?

Hey, I was wondering if it is possible to open a 3ds max file in inventor. I have looked for various file converters but can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Any ideas will be a great help, Thanks.

Open the file in the Mechanical Desktop module of Inventor.

Open the IGES file in Inventor.
Stitch.

Usually though 3ds files are heavily faceted surfaces of little use in an engineering modeler for anything other than reference to rebuild the model.

What export options do you have in 3d Max?
