Can't use design assistance....

Installed 6 and 7 so I could use 6 as a back up. When I right click on a
drawing and use design assistance to make a copy of an assembly and drawing,
Dr. Watson come and says hi when I save. Everything was fine until I started
using 7. This even happened when I just had 7 installed. Sometimes it
crashes when I exit out of a drawing. Guess I'll uninstall 7 and go back to
6. Wait for service pack for 7.

Anyone else seeing this????

I have had much better luck with R7 than I ever did with R6. I must admit
that I seldom use DA though. I would never go back to R6 and wait for a
service pack. Did you get any errors during your installation of 7? I keep
thinking that your installation may be the problem unless others have seen
this issue.

Ed,

Nope never had any problems in 6. Going to do a repair on the install and
see if that helps.

Are you rebooting between using R7 and R6? Earlier releases required
this when two releases resided on the same machine. Admittedly these
two releases are supposed to be forward/backward compatible, however the
Windows registry entries may still require rebooting when switching from
one to the other.

Hal,

I took installed 6 and 7. Then I was just using 7. Then I go into design
assistance and I get an error with "dtdv.exe". What is that? I just did a
reinstall for 7, rebooted, then used design assistance and get the same
error. Maybe I should just get rid of 7. I had no problems with 6.

It sounds like an installation issue. I have had no problems with R7,
migration utility or DA.
