Can't seem to change the state of Assembly because of FEA files....hmmm.

I need to chage the state of an assembly from WIP to Released in the Vault but it is linked to some FEA files.  It complains that it cannot be changed to Released because of the FEA files but the FEA files cannot be changed to released as there is no option for them.

Any ideas on how to get around this?  Thanks for any help.

Odd, first check that you are current on all SP's and Hotfixes for Inventor and Vault. If you don't need the FEA files, you could delete them which should solve the problem.

Just insert the picture rather than attaching it as a file

I suspect you can't release the associated FEA documents because they haven't been assigned a category?

Try giving them the same category as the model files - then try releasing them.

If that's not an option, you'll have to open the file(s) and delete the simulation.  That'll at least let you release the file(s)!

Lifecycle states are linked to the category - so no category = no lifecycles.

That was it (changing the catagory)!  Thanks!
