can't place text on inventor 11 drawings

For some reason we can edit dimensions, feature identifiers, etc. but we can't write text.

We select the text icon on the annotation toolbar, click on the area we want to place the text, select the font and size, we write what we want in the drawing and when we click ok the format text window closes, and for some reason the text never shows.

Any ideas?????
