Can't open old version of file from vault.

Dear Sirs,

As attached, the open command is greyed out when I want to open an old verson of a file from Vault 2012, somebody can hlep me to solve it?

My system is Window 7 64-bits, Inventor 2012/Vault 2012.

Thank you!

Shawn

Dear Shawn,

you cannot open the previous versions of a model directly from the Vault. You have to Get it locally (Get Check out command) then open it from local copy.
This is to avoid undesired overwrite of local copy with old file versions. With Get command you will have a warning if local copy is newer.

Hope this helps.

You should not Open files with Vault Explorer.

Select Get/Checkout, which should download the file to your local Workspace, then Open it from your local Workspace.

Why should you not open files directly from Vault?
