Please and Thank you

Seen from your screenshot, i guess you have the wrong inventor edition.
Inventor is the basic software
then there is an Inventor Routed Systems for pipe and electrical routing
an Inventor Dynamic Symulation with stress analysis
and the Inventor Professional with both modules.
so i guess the "Dynamic Symulation" module is not available on your license
The student version is usually the full Inventor Professional.
Where did you get this license (serial number)?
I clicked on that for download on the autodesk website, but I still got a basic version. maybe I need to reenstall everything?
What really confuses me is that (looking at my screenshot), the very top middle says student version, but in the top left my "I" does not say "pro" below it.
STOP!
First answer questions.
1.Where did you get the license serial number (the correct answer will be a specific website).
2.While we are at it - what is the url where you downloaded the software?
The serial number determines the functionality - I don't think any uninstall-reinstall will change anything.

This is meaningless - I have seen spoofs of the Autodesk website.
What is the url. What is your source?
spoof of autodesk websites? thanks scary. anyways, I believe I got it from:
http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/inventor-professional
I logged in, downloaded, they emailed me the SN and key info. this normal? email says SN is xxx-xxxxxxxx
this helps?
could I be missing a registration or activation task?

Here we go again.
Never post your personal serial number on a public website.
i thought you needed it to tell me the functionality. now it won't let me edit the post because i did once before...
I recommend you take this discussion over here
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/bd-p/24
proving all the information you know (except - DONT'T post your personal serial number on a public website).
I think the serial number you were assigned is incorrect - they will probably request it - but don't post it on a public website.
Well I just checked the S/N and it checks out. (can't share any other Info about it)
but based on activation dates, etc... its not a spoofed lic.
The issue is your looking at Inventor HSM for Inventor PRO functionality.
Inventor HSM (High speed Machining) is for multi axis-CNC machiing.
Inventor Pro has the Stress analysis tools your looking for.
... The "INVHSM_F_S" in your license is what told me you started the wrong version.
Since you installed this a few days ago I'm betting that your missing the Inventor pro Icon... HSM's Icon shows up on the desktop... won;t get it to that right now... so look for Inventor Pro 2015 in the start menu ...or by typing in for windows 8, then send a copy of the shortcut to your desktop.
I hope this helps,
Regards,
James

You should be able to click in Options>Edit as many times as you need - as long as not too much time as elapsed.
I notified the moderator.
See the link I posted above about taking this problem to the correct forum
http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/Installation-Licensing/bd-p/24
once you get the Inventor Professional activated - we can solve FEA problems.
Looks like James figured out the real problem. See Message 11 above.
But LIke JD said you shouldn't post the serial number up.
In this case it sort of helped because I was able to look up the info...
But I would rather have you send me a private message for that stuff, only when requested...
And really it should be done by Autodesk. (I'm with a re-seller, so i can look up that info and let you know)
James
ooooo ok I'll check everything when I get home this evening.
I originally thought inventor HSM was an add-in for Inventor Pro and not a separate program. I never had a HSM or pro below the I symbol to differiante so I never thought a differ.
I get it all moved over to other forum too.
Thank you

There is nothing to move now - you have it all figured out.
Just thank James with a Solved and Kudo! In fact, I'll give him one myself. Good catch.
Hi icbneumon,
I wouldn't worry about moving to the other fourm...
But I would ask the Moderator to Remove your Serial number.
Regards,
James
I have edited out your serial number.
As for editing you're own post there are some limits they are up to 30 minutes or until some one replies to the posting
Thanks

OK all is fine now.
I ended up having to uninstall all inventor verions I had (basic and HSM), eco material, and then redownload/install from the website previously mentioned. I think origianlly I installed HSM first and forced the other to be basic version?
First, during inventor pro install, I got a check box option for basic or pro that I don't think I've seen previously. Second, I got a network error during language pack install part; I went and specifially got it from:
and then all was good.
Thanks everyone for the help.
