Can't add note to pdf inserted into ipt

I have inserted a pdf print that I got from a vendor into my ipt file. This file shows up in my browser under "3rd Party" at the top of my browser. I need to add some notes on the pdf, so I right click on the pdf file and chose "edit". Adobe Acorbat opens and I add the sticky note. When I try to save it, I get the message saying it can't save the file. It wants me to save it under a different name. It is like the pdf file is read-only.
I have my ipt checked out.

Is there anyway to save this and keep it linked to my ipt?

Thanks,
Kirk

umm Is it read only? (windows explorer, RMB on the file go to properties (uncheck read only). Thats how I was able to reproduce your issue. Oh and I believe you will find that nothing you edit on a PDF will get updated/shown in Inventor. Its like Inventor doesn't recognize any of the editing (sticky notes, text edits, highlights,etc...) functionality of PDF files.

Is the pdf file LINKED or EMBEDDED?  I'm
guessing it's embedded...

embedded. Here is a shot of what I see in the browser. I placed this there using the Insert >Insert Object command and choosing "insert from file". then I chose the pdf.

Forget accessing it through Inventor. In fact close the IDW completely. Then try to edit the PDF file accessing it from Windows/Adobe and not via Inventors edit. Can you save then?

If I close Inventor, I can't access the pdf file from Win Exp or Acrobat.
