Can someone please try this with Quadro4 750 XGL?

I'm using a Quadro4 750 XGL with an Athlon XP 2400 (2 GHz) that appears to
be working OK with the 44.03 drivers in Full Optimisation mode (just checked
from the Diagnostics button). If I just start with a new template ie a
graphics windows open and I click the Start > Run (on the windows toolbar
button) there will be a 0.5 to 1 second delay before the Run dialog box
appears. If I then close the graphic window but still keep Inventor open
the Run dialog pops up instantly. I would like to know if this is normal
for this card (when I try this at home with a 550 there is no difference
with the graphics window open or closed).

Do you have any effects turned on in Desktop>Properties? Take a look
at that and see if there's any good to be done there.

Have you run any programs over the network from Start->Run. If it's trying to build a list of recently run programs and can't find
the network share it pauses (although why it only does it with a graphics window is a mystery).

The only reason I'm trying this is that I'm having a few issues in largish
assemblies where IV will appear to hang for maybe half a second. The actual
graphics display though is very quick and smooth.

Darvin,
Yep I'd already turned them all off a while back. I've just noticed though
that if I resize the whole IV window so that it takes up about 2/3 to 3/4
the screen area the effect goes away and it's instant again. I'm running at
1600 x 1200 x 32bit with the standard blue background.

Even at 800 x 600 x 32 though with IV maximised I'll get the same delay -
weird and annoying.

You can try disabling all your printers.

Rob,

Ask your IT guru.
Once we've had Inventor crash while creating a new drawing by template. At
the end a updated printer driver was the solution.
