Can i transfer features to the machining environment

I made a weldment assembly but by mistake inserted the finished part.

Now i want to move some of the features of the finished part to the machining environment in the weldment.

Can it be done?

Karol,

Why don't you just replace the finished part with the one you initially intended to use and move on?

Seems to me this would be a lot easier then trying to copy features from one to the other.

Just my two cents worth.

I don't understand the english. to replace the finished part with what?
I have only 3 parts that combine a weldment, only 3 part files.
How can i replace any of them? is there such an option?
And, about my question, can features be transferred from a part file, or from a file edited within the weldment, to the machining environment?

Really doesn't matter how many components there are.  All I was trying to say is what I got out of your original post was you accidently placed this machined part into your weldment.  Ok, all I was saying is RC on the component and replace it with the one you really wanted to place.

As far as your other (original) question, select the feature and RC on it.

Then go to your other part and in the browser select the part and RC again and select paste.

This dialog window will come up.

At this point just pick the correct orientation planes.

Hope this helps.

Sounds like the poster has created a IAM weldment, then rather than create features in the work enviroment such as chamfers, has placed/created these features in the Process tab.

You can't move/drag these features as they are infact "Assembly" level features. If you open the individual parts you will not see them in the Part file (IPT).

There is an 'Add In' for moving modelling features from an assembly 'down' to the part files it actually modifys.

it is called 'Inventor Feature Migrator'

having said that it looks like the OP wanted to go the other way. (from part -> to assembly)
