can I save an assembly in different states i.e. doors open/doors closed?

Hi,

I have an assembly model of an enclosure made from box section steel. Looks much like a wardrobe with double doors on the front.

Is it possible, to save a levels of detail with doors open and a level of detail with doors closed? i.e one level of detail with the angle constraints set at 0° and one set at say 135°.

Am I barking up the wrong tree trying to use level of detail or is there some other way of doing this?

I'm using inventor suite 2010.

Thanks in advance

Danny

Hi -

It sounds like what you want is Positional Reps instead. These can support setting different constraint values (angles, distances, etc.), but don't affect the components that are actually loaded.

Positional representations is EXACTLY what I'm looking for!

Thanks very much!
