Can I "check-in" files OUTSIDE of Inventor 6?

We are running our project files with the multi-user set to "shared" (at least thus far). My problem is that in order to save any modified IV files, you must check-out the file. IV6 does not "remind" you to check them back in after you close the file. Also, you can not do as IV5.3 and "cancel the reserved status" (check-in) from the iProperties. If I need to copy an assembly that is all (or partially) checked out to ANY user (myself included), then Design Assistant "locks" those parts from being modified. I have to exit DA, open in IV, and then check-in tree.

Is there any way to check-in the files from outside of Inventor?
